ACTING FOR THEATRE AND FILM RESUME

Cyndi Parr has performed on Colorado stages for over twenty years, with Smokebrush, the Millibo Art Theatre, Theatreworks, Star Bar Players, Theatre 'd Art, Dragon Theatre Productions, and Springs Ensemble Theatre. She has performed in films with You May Clap Productions, J.M. Chisholm Films, elope, CLVR, and One Way Voyage. You can download a partial resume here: 

PUPPETRY EXPERIENCE AT FESTIVALS NATIONWIDE

Cyndi started in puppetery through The Grumpsters, a sketch comedy puppet video site in 2005, and helped create and oversee over 100 puppets in Theatre 'd Art's production Ubu Rex, including a 9 foot tall puppet of King Wenceslas. Since then, Cyndi has helped design and create puppets for the puppet murder mystery "Help! Murder! Puppets!" for Theatre 'd Art in 2019 and taught a puppet workshop for Artists Anonymous. She has performed her baby dragon puppet at the Colorado Renaissance Festival for over three years and at the Santa Fe Renaissance Festival for the last five years. She designed the ghost puppet Ariel for Counterweight's The Tempest, and has also been the emcee for two Rocky Mountain Puppet slams in Denver. WRITING AND DIRECTING EXPERIENCE

Cyndi has written eight full-length plays and six short plays that have been produced in Colorado Springs, with Dragon Theatre, Theatre 'd Art, Springs Ensemble Theatre, Craft Production Resources, Moody Mystery Touring Productions, and the Millibo Art Theatre. Her favorite is the children's play "What Color is That Dress?" written in 2015, exploring the science of color and how we all see color differently. She has directed and produced shows through Dragon Theatre Productions, Theatre 'd Art, Manitou Middle School, and the MAT. Some of her favorites include Ariel Baty's original musical "Dogs! The Musical," and Sallie Walker's puppet murder mystery "Help! Murder! Puppets!" that was produced at the Zodiac, as well as "Alice in Wonderland" that was produced by Moody Mystery touring at 40 Thieves Hookah Lounge. 

DANCE AND MAGIC EXPERIENCE

Cyndi's first job out of high school was touring with a magician as "Kiera, Mistress of the Impossible." She has performed magic for Theatrework's The Bauhaus Follies, for Theatre 'd Art's Theatregasm, for the MAT's "Cabaret Voltaire," and for a birthday party or two. She has four years of ballroom dancing experience and six years of Argentine Tango experience. She has taken classes in modern dance, Bollywood, and tap. She recently performed as a dancer in the gender-bent Julius Caesar at Springs Ensemble Theatre, and as a dancing bee in the short film "Honeybee, your dance partner is death." 

WORKSHOPS, SPEAKING and EMCEE EXPERIENCE

Cyndi taught a theatre class at the Club of Arts for five years for adults with developmental disabilities. She has also taught a puppet workshop for Artists Anonymous, and a packing tape workshop for a high school production of Macbeth. She taught a workshop on inclusive community theatre practices and another on playwrighting at the Colorado Community Theatre Festival. She has been the emcee for two years of the Rocky Mountain Puppet Slam, as well as for fundraisers with Bear Creek Nature Center and Dragon Theatre Productions. She taught a workshop for business leaders on team-building through theatre, and gave a speech about Color with excerpts from "What Color is That Dress?" for the library's maker faire. She has also been a guest speaker for the VA, Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, and was chair of the Chamber Rising Professionals. 

DRAGON THEATRE, AWARDS and RECOGNITIONS

Cyndi, the Hall family, her sister Angie Parr, and many supporters helped found Dragon Theatre Productions, a community-inclusive theatre program that welcomes anyone who can make the rehearsal commitment. To date, they have created over 500 roles for actors in eighteen full length productions. For this, Cyndi and Angie were awarded the Aventa Credit Union Spirit of the Arts Award through the Pikes Peak Arts Council, and earned "Bill's Best" honor for "Outstanding Service to the Community." Cyndi was also earned Gold for "Best Non-Profit Artist" in the Gazette's Best of the Springs. Cyndi earned a BA in Theatre, Spanish, and Film Studies from UCCS, where she was Summa Cum Laude
