Magic of the Marsh - a socially distant play

It was so fun to play Hogweed the Goblin (puppet by Ryan Wilkes) in the socially distant play "Magic of the Marsh" put on by Theatre Across Borders (www.theatreacrossborders.com) for three weekends in June!

For six hours days we performed along the trails at the Fountain Creek Nature Center and at Bear Creek Nature Center for small groups of 10 audience members wearing masks, repeating a ten minute performance every fifteen minutes throughout the day, standing more than six feet away. The full performance took about an hour to complete the hike with eight interactive scenes performed by eleven actors, with twelve daily shows.

It was an experience for sure! Also because we were in a nature preserve, I acted with deer, lizards, a great blue heron, rainbow trout, frogs, garter snakes, a five foot long bull snake, and a bear who surprised me as I was setting up my scene. We were fortunate to have the nature center staff and a responsive theatre team who helped us navigate all the challenges (including shooing the bear away from the performances!) I took the pic below after it was safe and I had help:
